Couples therapy
Every relationship goes through hard stretches. Couples therapy gives the two of you a neutral, supportive space to talk about what is happening, with someone in the room whose only interest is helping you understand each other better.
Couples come to us at every stage: newly together, long married, raising young children, caring for parents, or wondering whether to stay together at all. You do not need to agree on what the problem is before you come. Most couples do not.
What couples often bring
The same argument on repeat. Feeling unheard, or feeling like a flatmate rather than a partner. Trust that has been shaken. Differences over money, family, children or intimacy. The strain of a new baby, a move, a job change or an illness. Sometimes it is simply a sense that the two of you have drifted, and neither knows how to start the conversation.
How sessions work
Most sessions are with both of you together. In the first one, we ask each of you how you see things and what you would like to be different. We will not take sides. Our job is to slow conversations down enough that each of you can actually hear the other.
Over time we look at the patterns underneath the arguments: what each of you is reaching for, what happens when you feel hurt, and how old habits from your own families show up in the relationship. Alongside that, we work on practical things, like how to raise a difficult subject, how to repair after a fight, and how to make decisions together.
Occasionally it helps to have a session with one partner on their own. If we suggest that, we will explain why and agree with both of you how it fits into the joint work.
When one partner is unsure
It is common for one person to be keener than the other. A hesitant partner is welcome to come to a first session just to see what it is like, with no promise to continue. If your partner is not willing to come at all, individual sessions can still help you understand your part in the pattern and what you want.
In person or online
You can meet us together at our studio in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, or join by private video. Online sessions work well for couples with busy schedules, couples living in different cities for a while, and Indian couples living abroad. Some couples join from the same room; others join from two places.
Getting started
Reach out by message, phone or email. Tell us a little about what is going on and what you would like help with, and we will suggest a time for a first session together.
